🌸How I’m Starting to Reduce Endometriosis Inflammation Naturally — Without Cutting Everything Out

When I realized I wasn’t going to get real help from a doctor to manage my endometriosis pain, I hit a turning point. I was told my only “options” were hormonal medications, menopause-inducing drugs, or a hysterectomy — at 30. None of those felt right for me. And even though I didn’t have all the answers, I knew I had to try a different path — one that put the control back in my hands.

So I decided to start making changes — not all at once, not perfectly, but intentionally.

Here are the first five steps I took to start reducing inflammation naturally. I’m still in the process, but I already feel the difference — and if you’re just getting started, I hope this makes the journey feel less overwhelming.

1. Cutting Back on Alcohol

This was the first thing I let go of — and honestly, it made a huge difference. Alcohol is a major inflammation trigger, and when you already have endo flares, why pour gas on the fire?

Plus… who wants to be hungover? (Not me.)

Letting go of regular drinks was surprisingly empowering — and I noticed less bloating and fatigue pretty quickly.

2. Eating Less Processed, More Real Food

Next came food. I was still experiencing heavy, painful periods and bloating, and I knew I needed to do more. For me, the biggest obstacle was convenience. I used to grab whatever was quick — usually processed snacks — because I didn’t want to cook.

Now? I plan ahead. I prep healthy options I can grab easily, I plan my grocery trips, and I try to stick to more whole, natural foods. I eat a lot more fruits, veggies, lean meats (mostly poultry), and I’ve even started choosing whole grain options and limiting dairy by switching to almond or oat milk.

I’ve also started cutting back on added sugar, especially in snacks and drinks, and focusing more on foods that actually fuel me. I didn’t realize how much sugar was sneaking into my day until I started paying attention.

Since doing all of this, I’ve noticed:

  • Less fatigue

  • Reduced bloating

  • Some weight loss

  • Shorter periods

  • Less intense pain (and no more bleeding through a tampon in an hour 🙌)

No, my periods aren’t magically easy — but they’re better. And that’s something.

3. Starting with Small Supplement Support

One of the biggest helpers? Turmeric. I take it daily to help reduce inflammation from the inside out.👉 This is a great turmeric supplement on Amazon

I also use several HUM Nutrition products that have helped me feel more balanced and less bloated over time:

  • 👉 Gut Instinct (Probiotic) – this has definitely helped with bloating

  • 👉 Hormone Balance – for PMS + hormonal support

  • 👉 OMG! (Omega-3) – inflammation & mood support

These aren’t miracle cures — but I truly believe they’ve helped support my body as I start healing from the inside out.

4. Being More Aware of Gut Health

Bloating and digestive issues are a huge part of my endo symptoms. Supporting my gut health (through both diet and supplements) has helped reduce discomfort and made me feel less “heavy” all the time.

Even small changes — like drinking more water, cutting back on caffeine, and avoiding foods that trigger gut inflammation — have added up.

5. Letting Go of Perfection

The biggest shift? My mindset.

If you’re just starting to think about managing endometriosis naturally, don’t look at the big picture all at once. That can feel like too much. It did for me.

Start small — cut one thing at a time. Do some research. Follow people with endo who inspire you. And know that you don’t have to do it perfectly to make progress. I still love coffee. I still have to make conscious choices every day. But I feel more in tune with my body — and that’s powerful.

💛 Final Thoughts:

If you’re looking for a sign to start making changes, this is it. You don’t need to give everything up overnight — just begin with what feels doable. Your body is worth the effort.
